The Nigerian military has announced significant breakthroughs in ongoing operations across the North-East and North-Central regions, neutralising nine terrorists in Borno and arresting six suspected kidnappers in Plateau State.
According to a Military Operational Report released on Friday, an air interdiction mission codenamed GUARDIAN tracked three motorcycles carrying nine terrorists near Mai Hisari Arege in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno.
A precision strike destroyed the motorcycles and eliminated all nine insurgents.In Plateau, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN apprehended six suspected kidnappers and terrorist logistics suppliers at a hospital in Jos South Local Government Area.
The suspects, who were receiving treatment for gunshot and machete wounds, are now in military custody for further investigation.
The report also confirmed the arrest of a Fulani youth leader in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna over alleged links to a recent terrorist attack on Naridon Community.
Elsewhere, troops in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue engaged suspected terrorists, killing one and recovering a locally fabricated pistol, a motorcycle, and other items.
In Guma Local Government Area, soldiers arrested a suspect accused of attacking a herder with a machete, while the injured victim was evacuated for medical care.
The military emphasized that these operations form part of its broader campaign to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace across Nigeria’s troubled regions.
