Traders from major markets across Osogbo, the Osun State capital, have thrown their weight behind the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The traders announced their endorsement during a meeting held at the campaign office of the APC’s Osun Central Senatorial candidate, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), popularly known as K-RAD, in the Alekuwodo area of Osogbo.

Speaking on behalf of the traders, Chief Omolara Ilesanmi, Alhaja Ganiya Adeligun and Mrs Sofiyat Adedoyin said the decision to support Oyebamiji was reached after consultations among members of the various markets.

According to them, the traders are convinced that the APC candidate possesses the leadership qualities and experience required to move Osun State forward.

They called on traders and residents across the state to come out in large numbers on election day and vote for Oyebamiji, expressing confidence that his administration would prioritise the welfare of market men and women as well as improve the state’s economy.

The traders also commended the APC senatorial candidate for Osun Central, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), for what they described as his unwavering commitment to the success of the party and his efforts at mobilising support for the governorship candidate across the district.

Addressing the gathering, Adegoke appealed to the traders to sustain the momentum by intensifying their grassroots mobilisation and encouraging eligible voters to cast their ballots for the APC in the August 15 governorship election.

He stressed that every vote would count in determining the future of the state, urging party supporters not to be complacent despite the growing support for the APC.

Adegoke expressed optimism that Oyebamiji would emerge victorious at the poll, assuring the traders that an APC administration would address the challenges confronting the state, improve governance and implement policies that would make life more meaningful for the people.

He further urged the traders to remain peaceful before, during and after the election while conducting their campaigns in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
