The Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, presided over by Justice Hussaini Dikko, has slated August 31st for judgment over the case filed by the Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the primary elections, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, against Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Court had earlier scheduled the 7th of August for all the contending parties, which included the plaintiff, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, and three defendants, Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura, the APC and the INEC, to adopt their final written addresses.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the Court session, Counsel to the plaintiff, Bello Galadi, said all the adoptions of the final written addresses were made by both parties before the Court as ruled during the last sitting.

“The Court has fixed 31st of August when it will pass the judgment which we are confident would be in favour of our client, especially as we presented before the court all formidable evidence to prove our claims”, Counsel Galadi has stated.

It could be recalled that Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, being one of the APC senatorial candidates of the Zamfara North senatorial district, had kicked against the result being presented by the APC, which was subsequently endorsed by the INEC, disputing the eligibility of the candidacy of Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura as had been declared.
