Veteran Nigerian journalist and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has accused President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using the forthcoming Osun State governorship election as a testing ground for their alleged plans ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Momodu, a former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential hopeful, however, warned Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke about the integrity of the election scheduled for next Saturday.
In a press statement issued on his verified X handle, Momodu claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is under the complete influence of President Tinubu.

Casting doubt on the fairness of the electoral process, Momodu alleged that APC officials have been instructed to employ any means necessary to secure victory in Osun, warning of potential violence and chaos.
“Let no one deceive you that INEC will deliver a free, fair, and credible election. The ruling party aims to use this election as a rehearsal for their broader strategy,” he claimed.
He also urged Governor Adeleke to remain steadfast and seek divine guidance amid the tensions.
“Hold tightly to God. Your dedication has been commendable, and you are supported,” he added.
