A man using a small dog as cover has been methodically working through West Side streets, checking vehicle door handles, peering inside parked cars, and striking when he finds an opportunity, either by smashing a window or pulling open an unlocked door.

In one case, he approached a victim directly, produced a knife, and robbed him. Chicago Police are asking for the public’s help identifying him.

The Five Incidents

June 22, 2026 at 2:14 a.m. — 4400 block of West Cortez Street.

June 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. — 4200 block of West Cortez Street.

July 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. — 1100 block of North Keeler Avenue.

July 15, 2026 at 3:30 a.m. — 1100 block of North Keeler Avenue. The suspect returned to the same block where he had struck six days earlier.

July 23, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. — 4100 block of West Thomas Street. In this incident, the suspect approached the victim as he parked his vehicle, produced a knife, and robbed him directly.

All five incidents occurred within the 11th District on Chicago’s West Side.

Suspect Description

The suspect is a male with dreadlocks who has been observed walking a small two-tone dog in both the early morning hours and early evening hours.

Chicago Police and Area 4 detectives are working to identify him.
