CJAN appeals to communities and state governments to make housing affordable for corps members across Nigeria.

Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Monday announced the extension of the commencement date for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course in Sokoto and Niger states.

A press statement issued by the director of Information and Public Relations of the scheme, Caroline Embu, said this is due to the ongoing renovation works in both orientation camps by their respective state governments.

She said: “In furtherance to the above, the new date for the commencement of the orientation course is Wednesday 12th August, while the Cut-Off/Swearing-in Ceremony date is Friday 14th August, and Closing Ceremony holds on Tuesday 1st September, 2026.”

The statement added that all prospective corps members (PCMs) are advised to avoid embarking on night travels to their orientation camps.
