Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has inspected major infrastructure upgrades at the Yankari Game Reserve during a tour led by Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

The inspection highlighted the state government’s ongoing investment in critical facilities at the renowned tourist destination.

One of the major projects showcased to the former President was the newly installed 500KVA solar power farm, designed to address the reserve’s electricity needs through a more reliable and sustainable power source.

Jonathan and Governor Mohammed also inspected the refurbished Yankari Museum, which has been upgraded to strengthen the preservation and display of the reserve’s historical, cultural and natural heritage.

The delegation later visited the Wikki Warm Springs, one of Yankari’s most prominent attractions, where improvement and renovation works have been carried out.

Governor Bala said the interventions formed part of broader efforts to modernise Yankari Game Reserve and improve its capacity to attract tourists and support economic activities.

The inspection was held during Jonathan’s visit to Bauchi, providing the former President with an opportunity to see some of the major interventions being undertaken by the state government in the tourism sector.
