Family members, colleagues in the movie industry, and well-wishers gathered on Wednesday to celebrate Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, as the couple hold a grand thanksgiving ceremony for their triplet sons.
Videos circulating online show the guests arriving at the venue, which had been long awaited by fans following weeks of anticipation.
The thanksgiving comes months after Adedimeji and his wife welcomed their triplet boys.
PUNCH reports that Adedimeji had announced the arrival of the triplets in an emotional Instagram post, describing the period leading up to their birth as one in which he had been “building, protecting, and embracing the greatest blessing” of his life.
He had said the babies were three kings to call his own.
The couple, who got married in December 2021, subsequently held a private Islamic naming ceremony at their Lekki, Lagos residence, attended by close family and friends.
At the ceremony, the boys were named Rahman, Raheem and Rakeeb.
Recall that a video of a group of market women dancing and singing in celebration of the couple’s triplets went viral on social media.
The elderly women, seen holding a crate of soft drinks, were captured offering prayers and thanksgiving on behalf of the couple.
Reacting to the clip on her Instagram story at the time, Mo Bimpe was full of excitement and asked that the women be identified and found, saying she wanted them to be part of the couple’s celebration.
Both actors continued to share glimpses of their journey into parenthood.
Mo Bimpe had described motherhood as a journey “from waiting to wonder, from tears to thanksgiving,” while Adedimeji, in a reflective social media post, spoke of the mockery and stigma the couple endured before the triplets arrived, describing their story as one that has now become a testimony.
