The management of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, has appointed Professor Mary-Ann Onoshoike Ajayi, as provost of its College of Law.
The appointment was announced, in a statement on July 28, by the university Registrar, Mr E.O. Ojemola. It took effect from August 1, for a tenure of two years.
Ajayi, a Professor of African Law at Bowen University, is described as a brilliant legal scholar and author.

She is widely known for championing the rights of female children and for speaking out against discriminatory cultural practices relating to education and property inheritance. She is married to Aare Seun Ajayi, SAN, and they have children.
Congratulatory messages have poured in from stakeholders, following the appointment. They include the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi; the Bowen University Law Students’ Society; and Aare Seun Ajayi.
