CP Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, has assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command.
The command made this known in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, in Yenagoa on Wednesday.
Mohammed said the new commissioner would be taking over from Iyamah Daniel Edebor, psc, IICFIP, foosi, who has been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
“The new Commissioner of Police assumed duty on 12th August 2026. Prior to his present posting, he served as the Commissioner of Police, Administration, Force CID Annex, Gombe State, and also as the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Abuja.
“He is a seasoned and highly experienced police officer with proven expertise in police operations, administration, and criminal investigation. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served in various commands, formations, and units of the Nigeria Police Force in different capacities.
“The Command by this announcement, solicits the cooperation and partnership of the good and well-meaning people of Bayelsa State, to accord the new Commissioner of Police, the necessary support he needs in the task of maintaining peace, law and order in the State,” the release added.
