Afrobeat icon Femi Kuti has argued that President Bola Tinubu is not Nigeria’s biggest challenge, insisting that the country’s deep-rooted institutional corruption is the true obstacle to progress.
Speaking on the Good News Naija podcast, Kuti said Nigeria’s judicial system failed to prevent Tinubu from contesting the presidency despite multiple allegations against him.
“Do you think Tinubu is the problem? The judiciary that didn’t stop him from getting there in the first place is a problem,” he stated.
He stressed that corruption runs through every sector, with leaders across the board belonging to what he described as a corrupt elite class.
According to him, if Nigeria had men and women of integrity in positions of authority, Tinubu’s candidacy would not have been possible.
Kuti warned that systemic corruption continues to crush the hopes of young Nigerians, leaving them disillusioned about the country’s future.
