The Deeper Christian Life Bible Ministry has urged leaders across all sectors, particularly public office holders, to maintain a strong relationship with God, saying the transformation of leaders and citizens would contribute significantly to the development of Nigerian society.

The church made the call on Thursday at a press briefing on the 2026 edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), scheduled to be held in Ota, Ogun State, from August 26 to 30.

The crusade, with the theme, “Total Transformation Through Christ,” will take place at the Anglican Church Grammar School, Abebi, Ota, beginning at 5 p.m. daily.

The GCK Ogun West State Overseer and host pastor, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, said the program was designed as a global outreach aimed at bringing hope, spiritual renewal and transformation to people facing various challenges.

Fasanmi said the crusade, which began in 2021, had reached more than 50 million people across the world through its various activities, including evangelism, medical outreaches, prison ministry, and other humanitarian interventions.

He described the 2026 Ogun West edition as an opportunity for residents to experience spiritual and moral renewal, stressing that a transformed individual could positively influence the family, community, and nation.

According to him,

“If a leader who attends the program is transformed, the lives of the led and the governed will also be transformed and richly blessed,” he said.

He therefore called on leaders in government and public offices to attend the crusade, saying, “If your relationship with God is okay, your relationship with man and the people will be okay.”

Fasanmi said the church was looking forward to a new Nigeria where citizens would embrace holiness, righteousness, and responsible living.

“We are believing in a new Nigeria. Something new will happen in Nigeria. As people are converted, they live holy and righteous lives,” he said.

He added that the impact of the ministry could be seen in the lives of youths and other participants who had been exposed to the teachings of Pastor William Kumuyi.

The cleric also said adequate security arrangements had been made for the program, noting that he had engaged the Commissioner of Police and the Department of State Services (DSS), both of which had assured the organisers of security at the venue.

Fasanmi said the crusade was open to everyone irrespective of religious, social, or political background, urging participants to attend with “open hearts and faith in the words of God.”

He also advised participants to come with their Bibles so that they could follow the teachings during the sessions.

The GCK Ogun West program is jointly hosted by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun West Chapter; the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun West Chapter; and the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

As part of activities preceding the main crusade, the organisers announced an All Believers’ Conference themed “Perfect Deliverance in a Shifting World,” scheduled for August 27 and 28 at 7:30 a.m. at Christian Pentecostal Mission, Ota.

An Impact Academy for Youth, themed “Transformed to Break Limits,” will also be held at 7:30 a.m. at the crusade venue.

Speaking on the youth program, its coordinator, Pastor Adesola Ajibola, said the initiative was established by Kumuyi to equip young people to become agents of positive change.

Ajibola said the academy was particularly relevant because many youths were confronted with several societal challenges, adding that the programme would expose them to values and teachings capable of helping them overcome such challenges.

The organizers also announced a series of free medical and humanitarian outreaches as part of the crusade.

A maternal and child health outreach is scheduled for August 23 at Landmark Executive Multipurpose Hall, 28 Iyana Joju Road, Ota.

Medical outreaches will take place on August 24 at St. Michael Junior School, Ota, and on August 25 at the Deeper Life Regional Headquarters, Ntabo, Ijoko, Ota.

The organisers said free consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and medications would be provided during the medical outreaches.

Free surgical outreaches will also be conducted on August 24 and 25 at State Hospital, Ota, and General Hospital, Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area.

According to the organizers, the procedures will include general, gynaecological and ophthalmic surgeries, depending on the location.

Prospective beneficiaries of the surgical program are expected to undergo pre-surgical screening from August 12 to 14 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Anglican Church Grammar School, Ota, and Gateway African Church, Ikolaje, Idiroko.

A prison outreach will equally be conducted on August 24 and 25 across correctional facilities in Ogun State, with the organisers promising spiritual encouragement, humanitarian assistance, and messages of hope.

Fasanmi said the various interventions were intended to demonstrate that the ministry’s mission went beyond preaching to include practical efforts to improve the wellbeing of people.

He urged residents of Ogun West, including Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa South, Yewa North, Ipokia, and Imeko-Afon, to participate in the programme.

He said the ultimate objective was to achieve transformation that would begin with individuals, extend to families and communities, and eventually contribute to national renewal.

The organisers also appealed to traditional rulers, government officials, business leaders, educational institutions, market associations, transport unions, artisans, youth and women’s groups, as well as community leaders, to support mobilisation for the crusade.

Fasanmi said the event was not merely a religious gathering but an opportunity to promote hope, moral renewal and spiritual awakening in Ogun West and beyond.
