The Lagos state Police Command has nabbed four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly linked to recent killings, armed robbery and cult-related activities in the Ajah axis of the state.

The suspects were arrested during sustained follow-up operations carried out by operatives of the Command in connection with a robbery case.

This statement was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, SP Abimbola AdebisI, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, stated that the suspects were identified as Kareem Abiodun, 26; Tansiru Emmanuel, 29; Lateef Usman, 28 and Alashe Azeez, 32.

The Police also recovered three locally made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes and a Point-of-Sale (POS) machine from the suspects.

According to the command, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly linked to recent robbery activities around Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki areas of Lagos State.

The suspects also reportedly made confessional statements concerning their alleged involvement in armed robbery, murder and cult-related activities.

The command said the suspects remain in police custody and are assisting investigators with ongoing investigations, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend other members of the gang and recover additional exhibits allegedly in their possession.

The police said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos state Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their diligence and sustained follow-up efforts that led to the arrests and recovery of the weapons.

Fatai directed the operatives to sustain the momentum and intensify intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks across the state.

He also warned cultists, armed robbers and other violent criminals that the command would continue to deploy intelligence and operational resources to track them down and bring them to justice.

The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police through its emergency lines to facilitate prompt response.
