The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded results from 2,986 of the 3,763 polling units to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) following Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

Saturday Telegraph had earlier reported that the  commission commenced the uploading of polling unit results on the portal late Saturday as the collation of results continued across the state’s 30 Local Government Areas.

Checks by New Telegraph correspondent as of 7:43 p.m. showed that the uploaded results represented 79.38 per cent of the total polling units involved in the election.

The election featured 15 political parties, with the major contenders including Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), among other candidates.

Meanwhile, more results are being processed and uploaded to the IReV portal as the collation and electronic transmission of results continue across the state.
