The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has raised concerns over the movement of Senator Francis Fadahunsi around Ilesa during Saturday’s governorship election, alleging that his presence in parts of the town could create tension among voters.

In a statement signed by Pastor Victor Akande, State Chairman of the Osun State Accord Party, commended residents of Ilesa for turning out to exercise their franchise despite concerns raised over security in the area in the days leading up to the election.

The party questioned Senator Fadahunsi’s presence outside his designated voting area in Ilesa, alleging that he was seen moving around Ilesa, including the roundabout and Ajimoko areas.

Accord said the development had raised concerns among its members and supporters, urging security agencies to closely monitor the situation and ensure that the election proceeded peacefully.

The party also appealed to the Owa Obokun Palace and other community stakeholders to encourage calm and peaceful conduct throughout the electoral process.

Accord further noted that long queues were observed at several polling units in Ilesa, urging electoral authorities to ensure that eligible voters were given adequate opportunity to cast their ballots without unnecessary delays.

The party called on all political actors and their supporters to respect the electoral process and allow voters to freely exercise their democratic rights.
