Mr Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the ongoing Osun governorahip election has expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious at the end of the poll.
Oyebamiji spoke after casting his vote at his polling unit, Unit 11, Ward 9, Open Space Gantry Sawmill, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government Area.
The APC candidate who voted alongside his his wife, Sekinat, commended the turnout of voters for the election.
“INEC (people) are here; the voters are here; security operatives are here. I want to commend the large turnout of voters in Ikire.
“It shows that people are not intimidated, and generally, things are going on fine across the state,” he said.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, said he was optimistic that the election would be peaceful.
He, however, urged the police and other security operatives to be proactive in ensuring security of the people of the state.
“I believe the election will be credible, and I am confident that I will win this election at the end of the day,” he said.
Speaking in the same vein, Oyebamiji’s wife said her husband will win the election.
She commended the conduct of the election, describing the voter turnout as impressive and expressing optimism that her husband would emerge victorious at the end of voting in the state.
She added that the electoral process had so far been peaceful and orderly, while commending officials of the INEC for their professional conduct throughout the voting exercise so far.
“The voters’ turnout is quite impressive. The INEC officials are conducting themselves professionally. There are police officers around.” she said, adding that the presence of police officers helped maintain order during voting.
“I think the process is good so far. The expectation is that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will carry the day,” she said, expressing confidence in the candidate’s prospects at the polls.(NAN)
