#OsunDecides2026: INEC uploads 87.48% of results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 3,292 of the 3,763 expected results from the Osun State governorship election on its Result Viewing platform (IReV).

The figure represents 87.48 per cent of the expected results, according to the latest update on the platform, recorded at 8:48 p.m.

Meanwhile, figures reviewed by PREMIUM TIMES on the Dataphyte election dashboard showed incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party in the lead.

Mr Adeleke had 451,744 votes, representing 52.54 per cent of the votes recorded on the dashboard.

His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had 382,689 votes, representing 44.51 per cent.

Mr Adeleke was ahead of Mr Oyebamiji by 69,055 votes in the results reflected on the dashboard.

Other candidates
Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was in third position with 14,806 votes, representing 1.72 per cent.

He was followed by Adeagbo Opawoye of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), with 2,642 votes, while Adesuyi Olufemi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)had 2,114 votes.

Olanrewaju Farinloye of the Action Alliance (AA) had 2,102 votes, followed by Esan Olajide of the African Action Congress (AAC) with 1,265 votes.

Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had 1,262 votes, while Ogunsakin Enoch of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) recorded 440 votes.

Simon Adebayo of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) had 204 votes, while Francis Ajala of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) recorded 151 votes.

Masilo Adeleke of the Boot Party (BP) had 104 votes, Taofeek Adewale of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) had 96 votes, Clement Banji of the Action Peoples Party (APP) had 93 votes, and Saliu Oyelami of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) had 84 votes.

The dashboard showed 876,827 total votes cast, comprising 859,796 valid votes and 17,031 rejected votes.

The state has 2,399,233 registered voters. Of this number, 1,906,390 collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and are eligible to vote in the election across polling units in the 332 wards and 30 LGAs of the South-western state.

The election

Fifteen political parties fielded candidates in the election, with Accord Party’s Governor Adeleke seeking another term in office.

Days before the election, two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of APGA and Simon Adewale of the APM, announced their withdrawals from the race and declared support for either of the candidates of APC or Accord. However, their parties’ names remained on the ballot.
