Zamfara state governor, Dauda Lawal, his Enugu state colleague, Peter Mbah and Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, Tuesday, commended Blueprint Newspapers annual lecture and award series.
Lawal, while delivering a goodwill message at the event held in Abuja, dwelt on the spate of insecurity in the country, assuring that with collective resolve the nation will put the challenge to rest.
The governor, who was recognized for Efficient Public Resource management and Transparency,commended the management of the newspapers for finding him worthy of the award, while urging the media entity to continue with its tradition of quality reportage.
Also, in his own speech, Governor Mbah, who was represented by the deputy governor, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, praised the newspapers for re-engineering the award process and recognition.
The Enugu governor, who was awarded Politician of the Year for Fiscal Responsibility and Digital Transformation of Enugu state, thumbed up the media organisation for adding intellectual content to the discourse while urging other media houses to emulate it.
He thanked the minister of defence for doing justice to the topical issue.
At the ceremony, Mbah restated the state’s readiness to work with Blueprint management in ensuring that they both develop a protocol that enables intellectual content to get back into robust conversations in our schools.
“I think it is important to put on record that Blueprint for the first time, if I may recall, has re-engineered the award process and recognition.
“This is the first time I am attending an award session by any media house where intellectual content has been added to the discourse. You have indeed set a new template. So, in essence, I want to specially thank the minister of defence and his representative too for the delivery.
“We want to work with you as a state in order to jointly develop a protocol that enables intellectual content to get back to everything we do.”
