May & Baker Nigeria Plc has warned investors against a fraudulent investment scheme circulating online under the name “M&B Equity Stake”, stating that the offer is unauthorised and unrelated to the pharmaceutical company.

The company, in a public notice dated August 17, 2026, said it had become aware of fraudulent materials being circulated through social media, messaging applications and other online platforms, offering members of the public an investment opportunity in May & Baker with promises of daily or guaranteed returns.

“May & Baker Nigeria Plc has become aware of fraudulent materials being circulated through social media, messaging applications and other online platforms, purporting to offer members of the public an investment opportunity described as an ‘M&B Equity Stake’ and promising daily or guaranteed returns,” the company said.

The notice issued by order of the board and signed by Adetoun Abiru, for Marina Nominees Limited, company secretaries, disclosed that the company had “unequivocally dissociated” itself, its subsidiaries and affiliates from the purported investment scheme and from anyone promoting or soliciting funds in connection with it.

It stressed that any person, platform, website, flier, message or other communication soliciting funds from the public in the name of May & Baker under the “M&B Equity Stake” or similar investment opportunity is fraudulent, unauthorised and not issued by or on behalf of the Company.

May & Baker urged members of the investing public to disregard the offers and avoid making payments or providing personal and financial information in response to them.

“The Investing Public is therefore strongly advised to disregard such communications, refrain from making any payment or disclosing personal or financial information in response to them and report any such fraudulent activity to the appropriate authorities,” the company said.

The warning is particularly significant as the company clarified that it is not currently seeking funds from the public through any formal capital-raising exercise.
“May & Baker Nigeria Plc is not currently undertaking any Rights Issue, Public Offer or other capital-raising exercise involving the solicitation of investments from the public,” it said.

The company added that any future capital-raising exercise would be formally communicated through its authorised channels and conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and the requirements of the Nigerian Exchange Limited and other relevant regulatory authorities.

May & Baker also called on shareholders, customers, employees and members of the public to verify investment-related communications through its official channels before taking any action.

“Shareholders, customers, employees and members of the general public are urged to remain vigilant and to verify any purported investment opportunity or communication relating to the Company through its official communication channels before taking any action,” it said.
