Daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have appealed for urgent medical assistance for their father, whom they said is battling stage-four cancer.
The actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, made separate emotional appeals on Instagram on Monday, asking Nigerians, well-wishers and medical professionals with experience in cancer treatment to help their father access further care.

In a video shared on Instagram, Lima said the actor’s condition had deteriorated and claimed that hospitals had declined to continue treating him.
She appealed to anyone who could help the family find a hospital or medical personnel willing to take on the actor’s case, stressing that they were not seeking financial donations.
“Hello everybody, good evening. I’m here to ask for help for my daddy. He has cancer and it’s really, really bad,” she said.
“And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance.”
Lima said the family only discovered the severity of Hassan’s condition about three weeks ago, adding that his appearance had not initially suggested that he was seriously ill.
“You see him, you can’t even know that something is wrong that bad. It’s just starting to show. We didn’t even know until like three weeks ago,” she said.
She urged anyone with connections to healthcare providers willing to treat her father to contact the family.
“We’re not here to ask for money. Nobody’s here to ask for money,” she stressed.
Lima also acknowledged the support the family had received from a relative during the difficult period.
In a separate video, Kira disclosed that her father’s cancer was at stage four and said the hospital treating him had told the family that he could no longer receive chemotherapy there.
“He has cancer and is in stage four. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again, like they can’t give him chemo again,” she said.
Kira appealed to anyone capable of providing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, to contact the family.
She also expressed appreciation to Senator Yayi, whom she said had been assisting the family and paying some of the actor’s medical bills.
The actress’ daughter reiterated that the family was seeking medical intervention rather than financial assistance.
“What I’m here for is that if you can treat my daddy, if you can start chemo for him, whether it’s medical or herbs, please, I’m begging you guys,” she said.
Kira urged medical professionals and healthcare facilities with the capacity to treat cancer patients to reach out to the family.
She became emotional while speaking about her father’s condition, saying she had never seen him experience such pain.
“He’s saying that he doesn’t want to die. Please, I’ve never seen my daddy in that kind of pain before,” she said.
Hassan, 66, is a veteran of the Nigerian film industry whose career spans more than four decades. He has featured in hundreds of films and remains one of the prominent figures in Yoruba-language cinema.
As of the time of filing this report, the actor’s management and family had not issued a detailed official statement on his diagnosis, the specific type of cancer or his current treatment plan.
