Re-elected Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied having any electoral deal or partnership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before, during or after the governorship election.

Adeleke made the clarification in a statement following his victory in the August 15 governorship election, stressing that the ADC was not part of the political coalition that supported his campaign.

The governor said the credit for his re-election belonged to God and the people of Osun State, whom he thanked for what he described as their overwhelming support.

“I had no electoral deal or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the governorship election,” Adeleke said.

“The credit for our victory goes to God Almighty and the good people of Osun State for their overwhelming support and re-election,” he added.

Adeleke said it was important to clarify the issue for the sake of history, insisting that the ADC did not participate in the coalition that campaigned and mobilised support for his re-election.

“For the sake of history, it is important to clarify that the ADC was never part of the rainbow coalition that canvassed, mobilised, and supported our campaign in the battle leading to last Saturday’s election,” he said.

The governor, however, commended the political partners who supported his campaign and contributed to his victory at the poll.

He described their commitment and sacrifices as instrumental to the success recorded during the election.

“I commend all our political partners who sacrificed, worked tirelessly, and went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people,” Adeleke said.

Following his re-election, Adeleke said his focus had now shifted from partisan politics to governance, stressing that he remained governor of all residents of Osun State.

“Now that the election is over, I remain the Governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or tribe,” he said.

He pledged to promote unity and continue working towards the development and prosperity of the state.

“My commitment is to unite our people and continue working for the progress and prosperity of Osun State,” the governor added.

Adeleke emerged victorious in the August 15 Osun governorship election, defeating his major challenger, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, to secure a second term in office.
