The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations Alliance (REEEA-A) is set to convene stakeholders to accelerate clean energy investment and access in Nigeria.
The 5th REEEA-A Investment and Partnership Conference will hold from Aug. 19 to Aug. 20 at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
The conference is themed, “Accelerating Collective Action and Strategic Partnerships for Equitable Clean Energy Access.”
REEEA-A said the event would bring together government officials, investors, regulators, development partners, technology companies and energy industry leaders.
It said the gathering would focus on strategies to expand electricity access, attract renewable energy investment and strengthen Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
The alliance said the conference would also promote innovation and commercially viable pathways towards a resilient and inclusive energy future.
Among those expected to headline the event are Dr Abba Aliyu, Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
Others are Engr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director-General, Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), and Dr Musiliu Oseni, Chairman, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
Engr. Adesayo Michael, Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), is also expected to participate.
According to REEEA-A, the conference is designed to move discussions on clean energy beyond policy declarations towards practical investments and strategic partnerships.
It said the platform would enable policymakers, financiers, investors and project developers to identify opportunities and address challenges confronting Nigeria’s clean energy market.
The alliance said discussions would cover energy access, investment, regulatory reforms, private-sector participation and clean energy technologies.
Other areas include energy efficiency, electric mobility, women and youth participation, skills development and climate finance.
REEEA-A said a technology and innovation showcase would also highlight emerging solutions supporting clean energy and sustainable mobility.
It said the conference would seek to connect institutions capable of financing, developing, regulating and scaling clean energy solutions.
Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, Chairman, REEEA-A Board of Trustees, is among senior figures expected at the conference.
Others include Biodun Ogunleye, Lagos Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, and Engr. Alabi Johnson, Ondo Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources.
Engr. Dr Suraju Musa, Commissioner for Power and Energy, Jigawa, is also listed among participants.
The conference is expected to attract representatives of the Federal Ministry of Power, REA, NEMSA and GIZ Nigerian Energy Support Programme.
Other participating institutions include the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, All On, GET.invest and Sterling Bank Plc.
REEEA-A said the breadth of participation reflected the need for coordinated action involving government, finance, technology, business and development institutions.
The alliance said Nigeria’s energy transition presented both an urgent development challenge and an opportunity for economic growth.
It noted that increased investment in renewable energy, distributed power, energy efficiency and infrastructure would support economic competitiveness and sustainable development.
The conference will also feature the REEEA-A Clean Energy Awards to recognise outstanding contributions, innovation and measurable impact in the sector.
REEEA-A urged government agencies, investors, financial institutions, development organisations and energy companies to participate in the conference.
It also invited technology providers, project developers, professional bodies, entrepreneurs and other members of the business community.
The alliance said the scale of Nigeria’s energy challenges required corresponding collective action, investment and strategic partnerships.
The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations Alliance is an umbrella platform for professional and industry associations in Nigeria’s clean energy sector.
It focuses on policy advocacy, industry engagement, capacity development, investment promotion and strategic partnerships to accelerate Nigeria’s clean energy transition.
