The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Yobe State, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, has commenced a historic tour of the state’s 14 emirates, seeking the fatherly blessings and prayers of royal fathers ahead of the 2027 elections.

Accompanied by a high-powered delegation including APC state Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, deputy governorship candidate Barrister Saleh Samanja, lawmakers, commissioners, and party stakeholders, Baba Malam Wali kicked off the royal tour at the palace of the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi II Ibn Umar Alamin Elkanemi, before visiting the Emirs of Ngazargamu and Gujba.

Addressing the monarchs, Baba Malam Wali described his emergence as the party’s flagbearer as a collective victory, made possible through the support of Governor Mai Mala Buni, Minister of Police Affairs Senator Ibrahim Geidam, and other key party stakeholders.

He emphasised that his visit was not just a courtesy call but a solemn quest for spiritual guidance and royal intercession.

“I am here to formally inform our revered traditional rulers of my candidacy and to humbly seek their fatherly blessings and prayers.

“With their support and the grace of Allah, I am confident that the people of Yobe State will be proud of the choice they make in 2027. My administration will be dedicated to selfless service and the accelerated development of our beloved state,” Wali stated.

APC state chairman Alhaji Gadaka reinforced the significance of the visit, noting that it was carried out on the direct instruction of Governor Mai Mala Buni.

He described the engagement as a testament to the party’s unwavering respect for traditional institutions and vital role in fostering peace, unity, and stability across Yobe state.

The Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Hashimi II Ibn Umar Al-Amin El-Kanemi, and the Emir of Ngazargamu, Alhaji Mahmud Ibn Mustapha, assured the candidate of their prayers and goodwill.

They offered heartfelt supplications for divine guidance, a peaceful electoral process, and success not only for Baba Malam Wali but for all contestants and the entire people of Yobe state.
