The Working People United (WoPU) has congratulated former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, on his appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the 2027 presidential election.

The group described the appointment as a strategic decision that would strengthen the APC’s campaign machinery ahead of the January 2027 presidential poll.

In a statement issued on Friday, the National Coordinator-General of WoPU, Comrade Prince Williams Enredonana Akporeha, said Yari’s appointment reflected the confidence of the APC leadership in his political experience, organisational competence and ability to mobilise support across the country.

According to Akporeha, Yari’s years of service as Governor of Zamfara State, a Senator of the Federal Republic and a key political figure in the ruling party have adequately prepared him for the responsibility of coordinating the party’s presidential campaign.

He noted that the 2027 election would play a crucial role in determining the future direction of Nigeria, especially as the country continues to implement economic reforms and pursue national development objectives.

The WoPU leader expressed confidence that Yari would bring discipline, strategic coordination and effective leadership to the campaign council while ensuring that the APC’s message reaches Nigerians in all parts of the country.

“Senator Abdulaziz Yari is a tested political leader with considerable experience in governance, party organisation and grassroots mobilisation. His appointment is a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in his capacity to lead a campaign of national significance,” he said.

Akporeha added that Yari possesses the political experience required to coordinate party structures, deepen grassroots mobilisation and effectively communicate the achievements and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to the electorate.

He further stressed that the interests of workers and ordinary Nigerians should remain central to political discussions as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

According to him, WoPU will continue to advocate policies that promote economic opportunities, improved livelihoods, social inclusion and better living standards for Nigerians.

The organisation also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC leadership and members of the Presidential Campaign Council for what it described as their confidence in Yari’s leadership abilities.

WoPU equally congratulated other members of the newly constituted campaign council and urged them to work collectively to advance the objectives of the party and contribute to national development.

The group reiterated its support for a campaign anchored on unity, effective mobilisation and the aspirations of the Nigerian people, expressing optimism that Yari’s leadership would strengthen the APC’s preparations for the forthcoming election.
