Fifteen people have escaped death after a DAF trailer carrying passengers and goods crashed along the Kano-Zaria Road at Gadan Yankifi in Kano State.
The crash occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command.
The FRSC said its rescue team arrived at the scene within five minutes of receiving the distress call and rescued all 15 people involved in the crash.
“The victims were evacuated to Kura General Hospital for medical attention. No death was recorded in the incident,” the FRSC said.
The crash, however, caused a temporary obstruction on the Kano-Zaria Road, affecting the free movement of vehicles.
The Sector Commander, FRSC Kano Sector Command, CC IM Lawal, immediately deployed the Corps’ tow truck to the scene to assist in removing the damaged vehicle and clearing the road.
The FRSC advised motorists using the route to be patient and reduce their speed when approaching the affected area.
It also urged motorists to obey traffic rules and cooperate with FRSC officials and other emergency responders working to restore normal traffic flow.
