Nollywood actors and actresses Femi Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, Funke Akindele and Lateef Adedimeji have joined scores of colleagues and fans in mourning the death of their colleague and veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

The actors took to their different social media pages to pay emotional tributes to the late screen icon, reflecting on his immense contributions to the Nigerian film industry and the lasting legacy he left behind.

Femi Adebayo described the late actor as a pillar of Yoruba cinema, saying his impact would continue to be felt by generations of filmmakers and actors.

Sharing his tribute, Femi Adebayo wrote, “Some people leave behind memories. Some leave behind a legacy that time can never erase.

“Thank you for the years, the stories, the lessons and the moments that made us fall in love with the craft.

“You were a true pillar of Yoruba cinema, and your impact will live on in generations to come.

“Rest well, Sir Taiwo Hassan. You will forever be Ogogo to us.

“Adieu, legend.”

Also mourning Ogogo, actress Iyabo Ojo expressed deep sadness over the actor’s death, describing him as a great man and her boss whose legacy would never die.

“This hits differently. 💔

“The industry lost a legend, but heaven gained an angel.

“My deepest condolences to his entire family.

“You were a great man, my Boss. Your legacy will never die.

“Adieu, o.

“Till we meet again,” Iyabo Ojo wrote.

Similarly, Funke Akindele also paid tribute to the late veteran, saying his impact on the industry would never be forgotten.

“Rest in peace sir T, your impact in the industry will never be forgotten. Thank you for the legacy you leave behind. May your gentle soul rest in peace. Goodnight sir T,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, actor Lateef Adedimeji offered an Islamic prayer for the late Taiwo Hassan, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.

“Ya Allah we ask that you forgive the shortcomings of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, Ogogo. Have mercy on him, pardon his sins, illuminate his grave and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus without punishment,” Lateef Adedimeji wrote.

The tributes reflect the profound impact Taiwo Hassan had on the Yoruba film industry, where he was widely respected for his decades-long career and memorable performances.

His death has left a void in the Yoruba film industry, with colleagues continuing to celebrate his life, career and enduring legacy.
