The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home, eliminating the need for routine visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Under the new arrangement, JAMB will verify candidates’ O’Level results directly with the examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

In a statement on Monday, JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative was part of the Board’s renewed effort to make its services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.

He said the technology-driven system would reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes while placing candidates’ convenience at the centre of JAMB’s service delivery.

New system to tackle manual upload challenges

According to Benjamin, the initiative would also address challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and mistakes in the manual entry of subjects and grades.

He explained that the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies would allow candidates’ results to be verified directly against official records before being downloaded into their profiles.

Under the first stage of the process, candidates are required to visit the designated result verification platform, enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and verify their identity.

They will then select the number of sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies before providing their email address and GSM number.

After making payment through any of the available payment options, candidates are expected to enter their examination details, including examination number, examination series and examination year.

Candidates can then verify their results and obtain a Verification Code.

For the second stage, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by their Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. Their results will subsequently be uploaded, after which they will receive a notification.

Candidates with two sittings are required to access their profiles on JAMB’s e-Facility platform and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

They will then enter their Verification Code, after which their two verified results will be displayed on the platform.

Candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects from the displayed results, ensuring that no subject is selected more than once.

They will then click “Apply the O’Level Results” and receive a notification confirming successful submission.

JAMB highlights benefits for candidates

JAMB said the verification service would provide candidates with a more convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.

The Board said the initiative reflected the commitment of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to developing a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.

JAMB added that it would continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.
