Street League Skateboarding is coming back to Arizona were it all began, at Mullett Arena on August 29, 2026. This SLS will bring together some of the world’s biggest names in skateboarding for a big competition celebrating the history and the future of the sport. Returning to the Arizona after 16 years, SLS Tempe sponsored directly by Stake is sure to promise an unforgettable experience and memorable event for fans of Street League Skateboarding.

SLS Returns to Its Roots

Returning of Street league Skateboarding is now one of the main events of this month that people, fans are eagerly waiting for. After one history recorded in this sport on the event in Glendale, Arizona, back in 2010 we can only imagine what we will see on August 29. 

The winner of the famous SLS in Glendale, Arizona was the one and only Nyjah Huston, winning the prize of 150,000$. Everyone is interested in how much the prize will be at this event, and as this date approaches, so does that information, so stay regularly to follow news about SLS Tempe’s event, as well as Street League Skateboarding betting odds.

Fans surely remember the biggest highlights from this event, but do I have to remind you of some of the most important tricks that were seen for the first time at this competition in 2010?  While fans around the world are waiting for this spectacular event, some of them are criticizing and have high expectations for the organization of SLS in Tempe. Will the players, referees, organization and Mullet Arena be able to fulfill their promise and write an unforgettable history again 16 years later?

People are interested in whether the evaluating criteria will change this year in Arizona, are  there gonna be new tricks and more importantly, whether they will be respected or just the usual tricks that the judges notice will be given importance. People definitely want to se everything from the talents that are coming to SLS Tempe.

One problem more for visitors, who will pay for the tickets, that we can see on forums and social media is will they be able to leave the Arena during the breaks? Will this problem  be solved for people who will travel thousands of kilometers to watch this spectacle?

Arizona’s Talents on the List of SLS Competitors

Since we now know which stars from Arizona will be at this competition, we are all interested to see if they will show their past successes on August 29th when the viewers need it the most in Arena, as well as on Skate bets.

One of them is popular Dashawn Jordan who started his career after strong showings in Street League Skateboarding, winning the gold medal in Men’s Skateboard Street at the 2021 X Games, multiple other silver and bronze medals in street and best trick selection, which tells us that he’s not playing when it comes to competition. He’s aslo co-founder of Faces Skate Shop in Tempe and have a music career as a recording artist and producer, which significantly expands the audience and support he will receive.

Jagger Eaton won the industry-anointed Tampa Am contest 2014 and his career took off in earnest. An X Games gold medal, Simple Session victory, podiums at the Vans Park Series and an unprecedented Tampa Pro win followed – despite not having a pro board out at the time. He took home a silver medal in Street at the Paris Games in 2024, hard work definitely pays of for Jagger! This year he won the Tampa Pro and came in second at Skateboarding Street League Los Angeles, that means that he is ready and warm up for this SLS for sure! And keep in mind he’s only 25 years old, which gives him an advantage.

Our beautiful Paige Heyn, returns to familiar ground to face other stars. Known as a switch skater who performs tricks with both left and right feet forward she competed in women’s street skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympics at age 16 and won silver in Women’s Skateboard Street Best Trick at X Games Sacramento. It is unquestionable that she will have viewers on her side, who wouldn’t support her, honestly?

The Rest of the List Did Not Disappoint

Despite the local Arizona talent, SLS Tempe will also have many international skaters who will make this event more special and interesting to watch and follow.. According to Yahoo Sports, the lineup includes Angelo Caro, Chaz Ortiz, and Chris Cole, some of the biggest names in proffesional skateboarding compete in Arizona on August 29.

Peruvian skateboarder, Angelo Caro, one of the most exciting talents to come out of the Latin American scene. His outright victory at 2019’s Mystic Cup in Prague, put the global scene on notice of a gifted newcomer in their midst. In 2021, he scored second place at the Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, and notched up fifth at the Games in Tokyo, Japan. Then in 2022 Angelo become Urban World Series Champion of Spain and his highlight of 2023 was second place at the senior edition of the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. What a legend!

The famous Chaz Ortiz is coming too. He constantly surprises us with his victories and successes in SLS competitions, as well as in Dew Tour events. In previous SLS seasons, Chaz made it to an incredible 19 finals and won convincingly eight times. His results speak for him, what a player… That consistency and competitiveness make him one of the best Street Skaters on the professional scene for a reason. With these results and scores, he can truly be a serious threat to his competitors.  He recently talked about his struggles with addiction while recovering from knee injury, now, he is feeling much better now. He points out how important mental health is and that now he understand that and want to change his bad habits, and move one from the past. He also mentions how at one point he didn’t have the strength for skating like before due to weight loss. How depressing and defeating that sounds for a skater? Chaz is definitely now the biggest mystery for this event, people can’t wait to see him and his form.

Our champion Chris Cole is also on the list for the SLS Tempe. He won multiple titules, including two X Games gold medals, two Thrasher Skater of the Year awards and overall championship wins at the Dew Tour and Maloof Money Cup. He rocks on skateboarding course everytime he appear. Will he show his talent to the crowd and his opponents in Arizona this year and dominate in Mullett Arena? Considering Chris is now 44 years old, many wonder if this will be a challenge or an advantage with experience because his opponents are much younger. If you ask his fans, age will not be a problem in the slightest, he is a born star. Choose your favorites carefully.
