Gridlocks As Muslims Marks Eid-el-Maulud In Kaduna 

…As Gov Sani calls on all to reject violence, hatred, division 

It was an unprecedented gridlock on Tuesday as Muslims from across Kaduna State celebrated Eid-el-Maulud, in commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

New Telegraph reports that major roads leading to Murtala Square, venue of the celebration, experienced heavy traffic holdup, including pedestrians, making commercial and transportation activities extremely unbearable to many residents, especially business people.

In his address at the occasion, Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, called on all citizens to reject violence, hatred and division, and embrace dialogue, tolerance, empathy and peaceful coexistence.

He said, “On the auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to our brothers and sisters in Kaduna State, Nigeria, and across the world as we commemorate the birth of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW)”.

The Governor explained that, “The life and teachings of the Prophet (SAW) remain a timeless source of guidance on compassion, humility, justice, tolerance and selfless service to humanity.”

“His profound concern for the vulnerable, unwavering commitment to peace, and steadfast pursuit of justice remind us of our shared responsibility to build a society in which every citizen is valued, protected and allowed to flourish.

“As leaders, public servants and citizens, we must draw deeply from these enduring virtues by placing the common good above personal interests, serving with humility, upholding justice and strengthening the bonds that unite us”, he said.

Sani noted that Kaduna State remain resolute in translating these principles into meaningful progress through investments in quality education, sustainable agriculture, accessible healthcare, youth empowerment, economic opportunity and critical infrastructure, while advancing initiatives that foster peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding across our diverse communities.

He therefore called on all citizens to reject violence, hatred and division, and to embrace dialogue, tolerance, empathy and peaceful coexistence.

Sani added that their diversity is a source of strength, saying through unity, mutual respect and collective endeavour, “we can build a Kaduna State that is more peaceful, prosperous, inclusive and just.
