The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Rt. Hon. Shehu Usman Bawa, popularly known as ABG, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in Kaduna State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the Maulud celebration commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a message to the Muslim Ummah on Tuesday, ABG urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the exemplary life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his emphasis on peace, compassion, justice, unity, tolerance and love for humanity. Blueprint reports

He said the significance of Maulud goes beyond celebration, urging Muslims to renew their commitment to the values of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and understanding among Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

The PDP candidate called on the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to offer special prayers for an end to insecurity confronting Kaduna State and other parts of the country.

He stressed that lasting peace and security were essential for citizens to live, work and pursue their livelihoods without fear.

According to him, the challenges posed by insecurity require collective efforts from government, traditional institutions, religious leaders and citizens, while prayers remain important in seeking divine intervention.

ABG also appealed to religious and community leaders to continue using their platforms to promote peace, discourage hatred and strengthen understanding among communities.

He noted that unity and peaceful coexistence remained critical to the development and stability of Kaduna State and Nigeria.

Prayers for economic relief

The PDP governorship candidate further urged Muslims to pray for relief from the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians.

He said the difficulties confronting families, workers and businesses required compassion, responsible leadership and collective prayers for divine intervention.

ABG called on citizens, particularly those in positions of influence, to support vulnerable members of society and demonstrate concern for people facing economic difficulties.

He urged Muslims and other Nigerians to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by showing compassion to the less privileged, promoting justice and supporting efforts aimed at building stronger communities.

According to him, the teachings of the Prophet provide important lessons on responsible leadership, fairness, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

Calls for responsible leadership

ABG also prayed for divine wisdom and guidance for the nation’s leaders, urging them to govern with justice, compassion and a strong commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of Nigerians.

He said leaders at all levels should remain focused on addressing the challenges confronting citizens and creating an environment where people can live in peace and pursue legitimate economic activities.

The PDP candidate prayed to Allah Almighty to accept the prayers and acts of worship of the Muslim Ummah and grant peace and security to Kaduna State and Nigeria.

He also prayed for divine intervention to ease the economic burdens confronting citizens and bring relief to families and businesses across the country.
ABG wished Muslims across Kaduna State and Nigeria a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration.

He urged citizens to use the occasion not only to celebrate the birth and life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), but also to reflect on the values of peace, justice, compassion, tolerance and unity.

He called on Nigerians to collectively work towards building a peaceful, united and prosperous society where citizens can live without fear, pursue their livelihoods and enjoy improved living conditions.
