President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and First Lady Janet Museveni have hosted the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, at a state dinner in Entebbe.
The event formed part of Adeboye’s apostolic visit to Uganda, which brought together Christian leaders and other prominent personalities.
The development was disclosed by the Redemption Television Ministry in a series of posts on Tuesday, August 25, highlighting activities during the Nigerian cleric’s visit to the East African country.
State dinner in Entebbe
The ministry expressed appreciation to President Museveni and his wife for hosting Adeboye and his wife at the state reception.
It described the gathering as part of the activities surrounding the RCCG General Overseer’s apostolic visit to Uganda.
The state dinner provided an opportunity for the Ugandan president and First Lady to receive the renowned Nigerian pastor and his wife as part of their engagement during the visit.
Episcopal consecration
One of the major highlights of Adeboye’s visit was the consecration of Pastor Patience Museveni Rwabwogo as a bishop.
The service was officiated by Adeboye, with the RCCG describing the occasion as a historic episcopal consecration.
The church’s General Overseer’s office congratulated Rwabwogo on her consecration and celebrated her new role in Christian ministry.
Meeting with Bishop Osborn
Adeboye also held a meeting with Bishop Dr LaDonna Osborn, the Chief Executive Officer of Osborn Ministries International, during his visit to Kampala.
The Redemption Television Ministry said the meeting was a strategic fellowship between the two Christian leaders.
The engagement formed part of the wider activities of Adeboye’s apostolic visit, which focused on interactions with Christian leaders and other prominent figures in Uganda.
The visit further underscored the international reach of the RCCG and Adeboye’s continued engagements with Christian communities and leaders outside Nigeria.
The activities in Uganda are expected to further strengthen relationships between the RCCG and Christian leaders in the country.
