The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has secured a landmark three-year title sponsorship agreement worth ₦10.095 billion ($7.5 million) with Warsaw-based Polish sports-betting and digital gaming company, Euromatch.

Under the deal, Euromatch will commit ₦3.366 billion ($2.5 million) annually to the NPFL, providing a major commercial boost to the league and its participating clubs.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, described the agreement as a reward for consistency and perseverance, saying the NFF had remained committed to improving the league’s organisation and commercial value.

“Since the inauguration of this board, they have been working assiduously to ensure that the league kicks off as and when due and that the indemnities of referees are paid as and when due, while increasing competition among clubs. We are happy to see this deal happen, and it is part of the plans of the NFF to ensure that the Nigerian league continues to put itself out there and create opportunities for our players.”

NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye said the agreement had been a long time coming, stressing that the clubs remain the biggest beneficiaries of the deal.

“We have been working assiduously to see this deal come to fruition, and it is for the clubs because without the clubs, there is no league. Sixty per cent of the title sponsorship deal goes to the clubs.”

Chairman of Euromatch Group, Mr Sacil Semih, expressed delight at the partnership, describing Nigeria as a market with enormous potential because of its huge youth population and abundance of football talent.

“We are happy to come to Nigeria and work in the most populous black nation in the world, with its vast youth population and talented group of players. Our target is to work and ensure that we create something for Nigerian football that will see it grow to the level of some of the top leagues around Africa and, hopefully, the rest of the world.

“With our coming to the league, it is a partnership that will turn around the fortunes of Nigerian Premier Football League.”

In a further commercial and media development, the NPFL also announced a partnership with Murphy Ben Inc., which will see league matches transmitted on the NPFL Live YouTube platform, alongside original content including player interviews, features and documentaries.

The twin agreements are expected to provide additional revenue for clubs, expand the league’s digital reach and strengthen the commercial sustainability of the NPFL.
