Amid the ongoing crisis in the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), one of the governorship aspirants for the 2027 governorship election, Abayomi Hunye, has called out the party for suspending him.
This is as he threatened to sue the party for collecting the sum of N50 million nomination form from him when they know Yayi is the sole candidate for the party.
Hunye, who has been in the eye of the storm since the APC primary in the state, accused the party leaders of threatening to withdraw him from the race ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Tuesday, Hunye said he was determined to seek justice and he had approached the court to challenge the outcome of the party’s governorship primary.

Hunye denied parading himself as the party’s candidate, insisting that he is only challenging the primary process.
He questioned why the APC sold him a N50 million nomination form and cleared him for screening if a consensus had already been reached for Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, to be the next APC gubernatorial candidate for the state.
He also alleged that he was excluded from a meeting of former governors and threatened by some party leaders not to contest, insisting that Yayi must be the sole candidate. Hunye vowed to continue fighting the matter through the appropriate channels.
According to him, “I bought the N50 million nomination form and was cleared for the screening.
“The first thing they said was that I had been suspended. They said I was suspended on April 7. How can you suspend me on April 7 and, on April 28, collect money from me and give me a form?
“I got the nomination form and the expression of interest form. I filled everything out and returned it. I have the receipt. On the screening list, my number is 52.”
