Chief Executive Officers and heads of Federal Government agencies have commenced efforts to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that “one good term deserves another.”

The CEOs, under the Forum of PBAT CEOs, also pledged to strengthen coordination among government agencies and intensify public communication of the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

The Convener of the Forum and Director-General/CEO of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Dr Kazeem Kolawole Raji, made the declaration on Thursday in Abuja at the maiden meeting of the forum, themed: “Strengthening Collective Leadership, Mobilisation and Support for the Re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Raji described Tinubu as a “courageous reformer and visionary leader,” saying the President had demonstrated political courage by confronting difficult structural challenges through reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, fiscal and tax reforms, power sector reforms and increased investment in infrastructure and development finance.

He said the reforms, though difficult, were necessary to address longstanding challenges and position the country for sustainable economic growth.

“History will remember President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a leader who had the courage to confront frontally difficult and deeply entrenched structural challenges rather than postponing them for the generation yet unborn,” Raji said.

According to him, three years into the administration, there was evidence of progress in public finances, infrastructure development, domestic refining capacity, CNG infrastructure, education, housing, agriculture, healthcare, technology, innovation, power and digital connectivity.

He urged the heads of government agencies to take ownership of the administration’s achievements by ensuring that the impact of their institutions’ programmes was properly measured, documented and communicated to Nigerians.

“We are the foot soldiers of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Every policy of government ultimately becomes meaningful only when it is translated into measurable impact in the lives of our citizens. That responsibility rests substantially on our shoulders,” he said.

Raji said the performance of each agency formed part of the President’s scorecard, stressing that agency heads must not only deliver on their mandates but also communicate their achievements to the public.

“If an agency has created jobs, Nigerians should know. If an agency has supported entrepreneurs, innovators, farmers, researchers, industries, students, women or young people, Nigerians should know,” he said.

He said the forum was established as a strategic platform for collective leadership, coordination, peer engagement, experience-sharing, policy support and national service, rather than merely another association or social platform.

According to him, the forum would seek to strengthen solidarity among presidential appointees, promote inter-agency collaboration, eliminate duplication, support the implementation and public understanding of government reforms, and showcase the measurable impact of government institutions.

He added that the forum would also encourage ethical and lawful public engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election, while promoting continuity and consolidation of programmes and reforms delivering benefits to Nigerians.

On the 2027 election, Raji said the forum would support the President’s re-election through lawful, peaceful, ethical, issue-based and grassroots-oriented engagement.

“The central message before us is simple: One good term deserves another,” he said.

Raji argued that Nigeria’s reform process required continuity, saying long-term development programmes should not be repeatedly disrupted by political transitions.

“Where policies are working, they should be strengthened. Where programmes are yielding results, they should be expanded. Where reforms require adjustment, they should be improved. And where institutions are delivering, they should be supported to deliver even better,” he said.

He urged members to leverage their professional networks, communities and relationships across states and local governments to explain government policies, counter misinformation and encourage informed civic participation.

He, however, cautioned that political participation must be conducted within the law and without compromising professionalism or the principles of public service.

“Our responsibility is not to compel anyone. It is to inform, engage, persuade through performance and present the facts about the progress being made,” Raji said.

He called on members to build the forum around “unity without uniformity, loyalty without sycophancy, support without compromising professionalism, and political participation without abandoning the principles of public service.”

Raji urged the CEOs to use their institutional capacity and influence to strengthen public confidence in government, saying their collective responsibility extended beyond the individual mandates of their agencies.

“The task before us is bigger than any individual agency. It is bigger than any individual CEO. It is about Nigeria,” he said.

He said the forum would work towards consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda and supporting Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, while ensuring that members remained accountable for their performance and contributions to national development.
