Fiesta Foods, a subsidiary of Sayed Farms, has concluded the maiden edition of its #CookWithFiesta campaign, a corporate social responsibility initiative designed to encourage Nigerians to celebrate indigenous cuisine while promoting creativity in home cooking through the use of quality frozen food products.
The initiative invited home cooks and food enthusiasts from different parts of the country to prepare local Nigerian dishes using products from the Fiesta Foods range, including frozen chicken, sausages, white fish fillets, butter, mozzarella cheese and frozen fries. Participants showcased recipes inspired by Nigeria’s diverse culinary heritage, with winners emerging after a competitive selection process.
At the end of the campaign, the overall winner received ₦300,000, while the first and second runners-up received ₦200,000 and ₦100,000 respectively, in recognition of their creativity, presentation and interpretation of Nigerian meals.
According to the company, the initiative forms part of its broader commitment to supporting communities beyond the provision of quality food products by creating opportunities that encourage culinary expression and celebrate the country’s rich food culture.
Speaking on the campaign, the Marketing Manager of Fiesta Foods, said the initiative reflects the company’s belief that food is more than nourishment, describing it as a means of preserving culture, strengthening family bonds and bringing communities together.
“Nigeria is blessed with an incredible diversity of local dishes, and we wanted to create a platform that celebrates that richness while encouraging people to express their creativity in the kitchen,” the Marketing Manager said. “Through #CookWithFiesta, we have seen how home cooks continue to reinvent traditional recipes in exciting ways, proving that convenience and authentic Nigerian cuisine can exist side by side.”
The company explained that the campaign also provided an opportunity for participants to demonstrate how readily available frozen food products can simplify meal preparation without compromising the quality and authenticity of local dishes.
Food industry observers say initiatives that encourage consumer participation are becoming increasingly important as more Nigerians turn to digital platforms for cooking inspiration, recipe ideas and food-related content. They note that campaigns centred on local cuisine not only promote creativity but also contribute to preserving culinary traditions by encouraging younger generations to engage with indigenous recipes.
For Fiesta Foods, the campaign aligns with its ongoing efforts to deepen relationships with consumers by supporting initiatives that extend beyond commercial activities. The company said the positive response received from participants demonstrates the growing interest among Nigerians in celebrating local cuisine while embracing convenient cooking solutions.
Also speaking on the initiative, a representative of Sayed Farms, the parent company of Fiesta Foods, said the organisation remains committed to supporting programmes that create meaningful value for consumers and communities.
“As a company operating within Nigeria’s food sector, we recognise the important role food plays in preserving culture and connecting people,” the representative said. “Supporting initiatives like #CookWithFiesta reflects our commitment to encouraging culinary innovation while celebrating the traditions that define Nigerian cuisine.”
Beyond recognising outstanding participants, the campaign generated conversations across social media as contestants shared original recipes, cooking techniques and personal stories inspired by meals enjoyed in homes across the country. The entries highlighted the diversity of Nigerian cuisine, featuring dishes from different regions and showcasing the creativity of home cooks.
Industry analysts believe community-driven initiatives are increasingly becoming an important component of brand engagement within Nigeria’s food industry, allowing companies to better understand consumer preferences while encouraging meaningful participation.
For Fiesta Foods, the success of the #CookWithFiesta campaign reinforces the growing importance of initiatives that celebrate local culture, inspire creativity and strengthen connections with consumers. The company said it will continue to explore programmes that promote Nigerian cuisine while supporting its broader vision of making quality food products accessible to households across the country.
