Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu popularly known as Odumodublvck says he would choose an Arsenal Premier League title over winning a Grammy Award.

He described the club’s league triumph as something he would value above music’s biggest individual honour.

PUNCH Online on Friday reported that the rapper made the revelation in a now viral interview with DJ Semtex, recalling his reaction to Arsenal’s title challenge and a conversation he had with Super Eagles midfielder Eberechi Eze after the Gunners suffered a defeat to Manchester City.

Odumodublvck said he encountered Eze the following day while they were filming a New Balance commercial, with the Crystal Palace midfielder assuring him that Arsenal would still win the league.

“When we lost to Manchester City, I saw Eze the next day when we were doing a New Balance commercial and he told me we’re gonna win the league and I said yes, I believe,” he said.

The rapper, a known Arsenal supporter, said the prospect of seeing the club win the Premier League meant so much to him that he would sacrifice the chance to win a Grammy for it.

“So stuff like that for me, winning the league was everything.

“If you gave me the opportunity to win a Grammy Award or, let’s ask now, win that Premier League, I would have chosen that Premier League. Take it to the bank,” he said.

Pressed to clarify his choice, Odumodublvck doubled down on his preference, using Arsenal’s controversial 2024/25 Premier League defeat to West Ham as an example.

“If I had the chance to win a Grammy Award, yeah, say this is a Grammy Award, and they say let that West Ham goal count or whatever, let them cancel that West Ham goal for us now to win the league, which one will you pick?

“I would pick that league ahead of the Grammy Award,” he asked.

Odumodublvck’s comments highlight the depth of his attachment to Arsenal, with the rapper regularly expressing his support for the north London club.

His reference to Eze also underlines the close relationship between football and Nigerian popular culture, with the England-born midfielder having represented Nigeria internationally and becoming one of the country’s most followed footballers.

For Odumodublvck, however, the choice is clear: a Premier League title for Arsenal would mean more to him than music’s most coveted award.
