The Daily Times’ centenary celebration will receive a global development boost on September 3, with Akinwumi Adesina former African Development Bank President confirmed as keynote speaker at the DTN@100 Awards in Abuja, where he is also set to receive a Global Impact Award.
Adesina has received his official Global Impact Award package ahead of the ceremony, scheduled to hold at the THISDAY Dome, Abuja. The event is expected to attract prominent personalities from government, business, diplomacy, development, media and other sectors.
His confirmation as keynote speaker adds international development expertise to the landmark event, as The Daily Times marks 100 years of journalism and public service.
Adesina, who served as president of the African Development Bank Group, is widely recognised for his advocacy of Africa’s economic transformation and development. During his tenure, he focused on issues including food security, infrastructure development, innovation, economic transformation and sustainable growth.
His keynote address is expected to provide perspectives on Africa’s development trajectory, the responsibilities of leadership and the role of individuals and institutions in building a more prosperous and sustainable future.
The presentation of the Global Impact Award package to Adesina further highlights the awards’ focus on recognising individuals whose work has generated significant impact in Nigeria, Africa and the wider global community.

The publication is expected to preserve these stories as a historical record for future generations, highlighting individuals whose leadership, enterprise, service and innovation have left an enduring mark on Nigeria.
