The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old suspected drug dealer and recovered illicit drugs valued at an estimated ₦5.8 million in Otuocha, Anambra East Local Government Area.

The suspect, identified as Chinedu Nwankwo, was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday, August 29, 2026, by operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Team during an intelligence-driven patrol along the Nteje–Otuocha Road.

According to a statement from the Command, Public Relation Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, items recovered include large quantities of suspected Cannabis Sativa, Methamphetamine, and Colorado, commonly called “Colos.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was allegedly conveying the consignments to Otuocha, Anyamelium, Nzam, Umuleri, and Aguleri for distribution to suspected criminal elements.
