The Delta State Government has commended the contractor handling the Phase II construction of the Emevor–Orogun Road for delivering quality work and maintaining steady progress on the project.

The commendation came after an inspection of the project in Isoko North Local Government Area and the Amai–Aragba Road in Ukwuani Local Government Area.

Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, praised the contractor, Emo Rock Concepts Limited, for demonstrating strong technical capacity and commitment in executing the project.

According to Aniagwu, the quality and standard of work observed on the road project place the company on the same level as several international construction firms.

He noted that the development further strengthens the resolve of the state government to continue awarding major infrastructure projects to competent indigenous contractors capable of delivering durable and high-quality work.

Aniagwu reaffirmed that the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains committed to ensuring that contractors deliver projects that stand the test of time and provide lasting benefits to communities across the state.

The commissioner also explained that the construction design for the road takes into account the swampy terrain of the area. He disclosed that the project includes the construction of retaining walls and the elevation of the road above the natural ground level.

According to him, more than two metres of sharp sand are being used in the construction process to protect the road from flooding and ensure long-term durability.

He added that the project is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to improve road connectivity and support economic activities in rural communities.
