Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that acting is the next chapter he hopes to explore in his career, saying he plans to feature in films while also investing in movie productions.

Speaking about his future plans beyond music in a recent interview with Vibe Q, the award-winning singer said he has long harboured ambitions of becoming an actor and is already investing in the film industry.

The singer explained that he sees music as an ever-evolving craft, comparing it to the constant innovation in the technology industry.

“Music evolves. Just like technology, Apple every year, they’re bringing out a new iPhone. That’s the same way I look at music. There’s always a new sound, there’s always a new creative idea, there’s always a new way to tell your story,” he said.

According to Davido, he is executive producing two movies this year alongside his director, Dammy Twitch, while also working on a major documentary project.

The singer explained that, despite his successful music career, he believes in evolving creatively and exploring new opportunities in entertainment.

“I want to get into movies. I want to start acting soon. I have invested in two movie already as an executive producer. I also have a documentary coming. It is very very big. And yeah, I do want to act at some point in the future,” he said.

Davido added that music remains his passion, but he is excited about telling stories through different creative platforms, including film.
