Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has paid glowing tribute to Muhammadu Sanusi II on the occasion of his 65th birthday, describing him as a courageous leader, brilliant intellectual, and committed statesman whose life has been defined by integrity and service.

In a personal birthday message issued on Friday, Otti said Sanusi’s remarkable journey in banking, public service, and traditional leadership reflects uncommon courage, scholarship, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice and national development.

The governor noted that over the years, he had come to know the Emir not only as an exceptional traditional ruler and statesman but also as a friend and brother whose sincerity, intellect, and dedication to the greater good have remained steadfast.

Reflecting on their discussions over the years, Otti said their conversations on leadership, economic transformation, and nation-building had reinforced his belief that Nigeria is blessed with leaders willing to speak the truth, challenge convention, and work for a better future.

He praised Sanusi’s leadership style, saying true leadership is measured not by the offices one occupies but by the courage to uphold one’s convictions, even in the face of personal sacrifice.

Otti also highlighted Sanusi’s distinguished career, recalling his service as Chief Risk Officer at UBA, Chief Executive Officer of First Bank, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the 16th Emir of Kano, describing each role as marked by excellence and visionary leadership.

The governor further commended the Emir’s warmth, generosity, and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, noting that his friendship and wisdom have been invaluable.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the monarch continued good health, renewed strength, wisdom, peace, and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria and humanity.

Otti concluded by wishing the Emir a happy 65th birthday, expressing confidence that his best years are still ahead.
