The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has congratulated the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, on his 70th birthday, and described him as “one of Nigeria’s finest legal minds and a distinguished community leader.”

In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf, the speaker praised AbdulRazaq’s contributions to nation-building, community development and human capital advancement.

He noted that AbdulRazaq, son of the late Alhaji A.G.F. AbdulRazaq, the first lawyer from Northern Nigeria, and pioneer Mutawali of Ilorin Emirate, made history as the first person from the Ilorin Emirate to earn a Ph.D in Law.

Danladi-Salihu said the celebrant, an accomplished lawyer, businessman and philanthropist whose service in both the public and private sectors, has positively impacted many lives.

According to the speaker, AbdulRazaq’s commitment to the development of the Ilorin Emirate and humanity earned him the revered traditional title of Mutawali of Ilorin.

He joined the AbdulRazaq family, associates and the people of the Ilorin Emirate in celebrating the milestone, praying for Allah to grant the elder statesman continued good health, wisdom and strength for greater service to the nation.
