Management of controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has issued a public apology following the singer’s disqualification during his celebrity boxing rematch against actor Charles Okocha at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

In a statement released by Zeh Nation/Dr Zeh and shared on social media, the management apologised to the event organisers, Balmoral Group, the production team, fans, friends, family members, and everyone who attended the boxing event to support the controversial street-pop singer.

The statement acknowledged the disappointment caused by the outcome of the bout and Portable’s decision to step away after the opening round, urging fans and the public to respect his decision and perspective.

“On behalf of Portable’s management, we take full responsibility for the disappointment this may have caused. We remain grateful for the unwavering love and support shown to him throughout this journey,” the statement read.

The management also expressed appreciation to Balmoral Group and all those involved in organising the event, apologising for any inconvenience caused by the incident.

It added that the team had taken note of public feedback and was committed to learning from the experience, promising that Portable would return stronger in future outings.

The apology comes hours after Charles Okocha was declared the winner of the “Unfinished Business” celebrity boxing rematch after Portable was disqualified for leaving the ring before the end of the opening round.
