A former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, Ibiyemi Tajudeen, has endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term, attributing his decision to what he described as the governor’s performance in road infrastructure, workers’ welfare and healthcare delivery.

Tajudeen, who recently defected from the APC to the Accord Party after returning from abroad, made the declaration while featuring on Issues That Matter, a current affairs programme on City Mirror TV, in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

Explaining the rationale behind his defection, the former APC member said his tour of several communities across Osun State convinced him that the Adeleke administration had recorded significant achievements worthy of another term.

According to him, visits to towns including Ila, Ile-Ife, Iwo and communities in his native Odo-Otin Local Government Area exposed him to numerous road construction and streetlight projects executed by the present administration.

He maintained that despite the APC’s 12-year control of the state, many communities were denied similar development, arguing that Governor Adeleke had delivered visible projects within three and a half years in office.

«”When I returned to Nigeria, I decided to assess things for myself. I travelled across different parts of Osun and what I saw convinced me that Governor Adeleke is working. The roads, streetlights and other projects are there for everyone to see,” Tajudeen said.»

He also praised the administration for improving workers’ welfare, ending the payment of half salaries, promoting civil servants and investing in primary healthcare centres across the state.

«”Development cannot happen everywhere at once. I believe the governor has achieved about 60 per cent of what he intends to do. If given another four years, he will complete more of the projects,” he added.»

Ahead of the August 15 governorship election, Tajudeen urged residents of Odo-Otin Local Government Area to vote massively for Governor Adeleke, expressing confidence that the governor would secure another mandate.

He equally commended the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, for what he described as impactful empowerment programmes and developmental initiatives that have positively affected residents of Odo-Otin.

Tajudeen expressed optimism that Adeleke’s re-election would consolidate the developmental strides recorded by the administration and sustain peace and stability across Osun State, urging eligible voters to come out and exercise their civic responsibility on election day.
