Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has died at the age of 62.

His death was announced by the Adeosun family in a statement released on Thursday, confirming that he passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos after a life the family described as one marked by integrity, faith and service.

The statement, titled “Announcement of the Passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” was issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family and expressed gratitude to God despite the painful loss.

Family mourns respected businessman

According to the statement, Anthony Adeosun was a distinguished businessman whose professional accomplishments were matched by his commitment to Christian values and service to humanity.

The family described him as a devoted husband, caring father and dependable brother whose generosity, humility and steadfast faith positively influenced countless people throughout his lifetime.

“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, in Lagos,” the statement read.

It added that he lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering dedication to God, deep love for his family and an enduring commitment to his community.

The announcement has drawn condolences from friends, associates and well-wishers, many of whom remembered Anthony Adeosun as a quiet achiever whose kindness and generosity left lasting impressions on those who encountered him.

Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, his children and several siblings, including the founder of Kuramo Capital, Adewale Adeosun.
