Oluwadaraba Oyinwoleola Akinwande has emerged the Most Outstanding Graduating Student of The Vale College, Ibadan, at the school’s 2026 Valedictory Service held at the weekend.

Akinwande, of the Class of 2026, also clinched the Outstanding Orator Award and was named Best Female Graduating Student in Character and Learning. 

Maple Canadian College further recognised her with the Academic Excellence Award as the Best Graduating Student of The Vale College for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Speaking at the event, school authorities said the awards underscored the college’s commitment to producing students who excel both academically and morally.

A major highlight of the ceremony was Akinwande’s valedictory address, which was delivered with confidence and eloquence.

She reflected on six years at the college and expressed gratitude to God, parents, teachers and mentors. She also charged her fellow graduates to pursue excellence with character and purpose.

Her speech drew repeated applause and standing ovations from parents, staff, guests and students, with many describing it as one of the most memorable moments of the ceremony.

According to the school, Akinwande distinguished herself over the six years through academic excellence, leadership, integrity and active participation in school activities.

The management, staff, parents and the entire Vale College community congratulated her on the feat, expressing confidence that she would continue to excel and make meaningful contributions to society.
