Dog bites require prompt cleaning, monitoring for infection, and often antibiotics, as they carry a high risk of bacterial infection. Immediate Wound Care. Wash the bite thoroughly with soap and clean running water for several minutes to remove dirt and bacteria from the wound. 

Since you were bitten by your dog,it is assumed that he has been vaccinated against rabies. If not, you may need to take a rabies post-exposure prophylaxis.
