Kindly let me know how to reduce muscle loss in old age.
Camilus (by SMS)
Sarcopenia is a natural aging process involving loss of muscle mass. This begins slowly at around age 40. If you don’t do anything about it, you stand a good chance of losing significant mobility. Not only is sarcopenia preventable, it is reversible but… you’ll have to work at it.
To avoid this curse, daily brisk walks, with some upper body work with moderate weights are advisable. Some special leg exercises that keep the knees strong are necessary. All of this takes around 90 minutes daily and its worth it, to say the least. You don’t need a gym but the social atmosphere might help keep you motivated. You can easily find appropriate programs on the Internet. It has to be done if you want to prolong your enjoyment of life in Old Age.
