Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Senator representing Plateau South, Simon Bako Lalong and Senator I. D Gyang have led a chorus of tributes to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, as he marks his 58th birthday.

The leaders, in separate congratulatory messages, described the APC helmsman as a distinguished scholar, a visionary administrator, and a stabilising force in the nation’s contemporary political landscape.

Governor Mutfwang, in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Gyang Bere, expressed profound gratitude to God for Prof. Nentawe’s life, describing him as a “worthy son of Plateau” whose elevation to the leadership of the nation’s governing party has brought immense honour to the state.

The Governor noted that Nentawe’s trajectory from the ivory tower to high-level public service has been defined by an unwavering commitment to excellence and technological innovation.

“This significant milestone provides an opportunity to celebrate a distinguished scholar and patriotic Nigerian whose life has been defined by integrity, humility, and service to humanity”

He further expressed confidence that the National Chairman would leverage his wealth of experience to deepen internal democracy and promote national unity.

“As National Chairman of the APC, I am confident that Prof. Yilwatda will continue to bring his leadership acumen to bear in strengthening the party and advancing the collective interests of all Nigerians,” the Governor added.

However the Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, has described the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, as a leader of “candour and excellence” on the occasion of his 58th birthday.

Lalong expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining the APC helmsman with wisdom and strength, noting that his leadership has been pivotal in steering the affairs of Africa’s largest political party.

Senator Lalong remarked that marking such a milestone while saddled with the enormous responsibility of leading the ruling party is a testament to Prof. Nentawe’s resilience and administrative acumen. He praised the Chairman’s inclusive approach, which he stated has bolstered internal confidence and unity across the party’s national ranks.

Reflecting on the celebrant’s swift political ascent, the former Governor noted that he has watched with pride as Prof. Nentawe transitioned from a distinguished academic and technocrat to the APC gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State, and subsequently to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, before his eventual emergence as the party’s National Chairman.

“Prof. Nentawe has remained focused, disciplined, and unshaken in his commitment to the ideals of progressive governance,” Lalong stated. “His leadership has not only consolidated unity within our party but has also served as a magnet, attracting prominent Nigerians into the APC family.”

The Senator further urged the Chairman to remain steadfast in his support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, praying for divine guidance and sound health to enable him to continue his service to the nation.

In a similar vein, Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang joined well-wishers across the country and the diaspora to celebrate the APC National Chairman, describing him as an “amiable and phenomenal leader.”

Senator Gyang noted that at 58, Prof. Nentawe stands at a defining juncture of a life distinguished by intellectual depth and an enduring commitment to nation-building.

“Your journey from the ivory tower of scholarship to the demanding arena of national political leadership is a clear testimony that knowledge, character, and service are the essential ingredients for consequential leadership,” Gyang Said.
