Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor Samuel Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, has broken his months-long silence, thanking fans for standing by him during his prolonged absence from the public eye.

Shaggi has largely stayed away from public engagements, comedy shows and his usual online activities in recent months, leaving many fans concerned about his whereabouts.

In an emotional message shared on his WhatsApp channel on Friday, the comedian expressed gratitude to fans who continued to check on him, show him love and support him despite his absence.

He acknowledged that he had not been able to connect with his supporters as much as he wanted but said their patience and loyalty had meant a great deal to him.

Shaggi thanks fans for their loyalty

The comedian thanked those who remained with him during his period of silence, saying their continued support had been deeply meaningful.

He, however, did not reveal the reason for his prolonged absence, saying he was not yet ready to tell his full story.

Shaggi hinted that he would eventually open up about what he had been going through and expressed hope that he would soon be able to reconnect with his fans.

He assured his supporters that he had not forgotten them and had continued to think about returning to the entertainment scene.

Comedian promises stronger comeback

Shaggi promised that when he eventually returns, he would come back better, stronger and ready to make up for the time he has spent away.

His message offered some reassurance to fans who have continued to express concern over his prolonged absence from public events, comedy shows and social media activities.

The comedian did not provide a specific date for his return but suggested that he hoped it would happen soon.

Reported shooting incident raised concern

Shaggi’s latest message comes months after reports of an alleged shooting incident involving the comedian sparked concern among his fans.

The Ogun State Police Command had commenced an investigation following reports that Shaggi sustained a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit around the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

The reported incident was said to have occurred while Shaggi and members of his crew were filming under the Sango-Ota bridge.

However, the Ogun State Police Command said it could not confirm that the incident occurred within Ogun State.

The command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, urged members of the public to avoid spreading unverified information and allow the investigation to run its course.

Lagos State Police Command also disclosed that detectives were alerted by a hospital about a gunshot victim receiving treatment at the facility.

Officers who visited the hospital reportedly discovered that the victim was Shaggi.

The command said the comedian had sustained an injury to his thigh but noted that the reported location of the incident, Sango-Ota, was outside its jurisdiction.

According to report, Shaggi was initially taken to a hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos before being referred to another facility in Ikeja.

The circumstances surrounding the reported incident remained unclear, while Shaggi and his management did not publicly provide a detailed account of what happened.

Fans await Shaggi’s return

Shaggi’s prolonged absence from public events, comedy shows and his regular online activities subsequently became a source of concern among his followers.

His latest message is his most significant public communication in months, although he stopped short of explaining what had kept him away.

Instead, he focused on appreciating his supporters and assuring them that he had not forgotten them.

Shaggi rose to prominence through social media comedy and is known for his distinctive comic character, energetic skits and appearances in Nigerian entertainment productions.

For now, his fans are waiting for the full story he promised to share and anticipating his return to the comedy scene.
